what you need: Maternity pads Postnatal herbs Witch hazel extract Sea salt Filtered water Boiling water Strainer Bowl Large Jug aluminium foil *optional: aloe vera extract/gel, lavender essential oil, franckinsense oil. Step 1. Prepare the herbal infusion Place one tablespoon of herbs into one cup of almost boiling (80deg) water. Leave the herbs to sit for 5 minutes. Strain the water to remove the herbs.
Step 2. Prepare solution Place the herb infused water into a jug, add another cup of water, approximately 1/4 cup of witch hazel extract, 2 or 3 drops of essential oil , 2 tablespoons of sea salt. (Add aloe vera gel now) Stir until salt has dissolved. Leave the solution to cool.
Step 3. Fill the pads Unwrap the pads and lay them out ready. Slowly pour the solution on the pads but not too much as the pad will become over saturated.
Step 4. Individually wrap the pads in aluminium foil and place into a bowl. By placing it open into bowl, the pad will freeze in a shape that will fit against your body better than if you froze the pad flat or folded.
you're done! This should make enough for one packet of pads.
